Hacienda de Vega opens its doors to Carlsbad

Astonishing ambiance and true old-world flavors bring Mexico to North County Coastal

SAN DIEGO—January 5, 2015-Nestled in the heart of the Carlsbad Research Center the newly remodeled Hacienda de Vega Restaurant, which specializes in gourmet Mexican cuisine, will open its doors to the North County Coastal community of Carlsbad on Thursday January 15. The 6,000 square foot building features an indoor, cobblestone courtyard complete with fountains, and 18ft tree, wipe-glazed walls and original talavera tiles along with a myriad of imported treasures that evoke images of a simpler way of life and provide a window into Mexican family traditions.

“We’ve really made it a point to keep every aspect of the restaurant as true as possible to the real thing. Mexico is incredibly rich in customs, flavors and textures” said Coco Vega, the restaurant’s Special Event’s Director; “and it is very important for us to be as faithful as we can to the traditions of which we are so proud”.

Bold, distinctive and delicious spices are the hallmark of Hacienda de Vega’s amazing family recipes. One authentic specialty after another duplicate ageless flavors such as Mole Poblano, Tequila Shrimp, Tampiquena and the signature Sabana Invierno (Winter Quilt). The 18 oz. Hacienda Margarita, a secret house original, is the perfect complement to this incredible feast of the senses.

Hacienda de Vega – Carlsbad is the sister property of the original Hacienda de Vega which opened in Escondido in 2003. The indoor nature of the Carlsbad space with an intimate outdoor feel is a distinct signature design of the Vega Family and it also features an incredible outdoor patio with tropical flowers and a two tier fountain, which cascades continuously and provides a peaceful and serene backdrop for the perfect meal.

Dear Guests: Due to the terrible events affecting San Diego over the last 3 days, we will be closed today Thursday May 15,2014.

Several of our staff members live in the various communities close to or affected by these fires and we cannot ask them to be away from their loved ones at this time.
